Doodle Art : My Sister’s Doodle
These particular drawings are on 5×7″ 140lb cold press watercolor paper that I cut from a 9×12″ pad. I wanted something small for each person, something personal, something they can have nearby even in the office. I have already made one for Sara and Mom so it was my sister’s turn. Her initials create the center line.
In case your interested, here’s the steps I take in MY process (because I know it’s different for everyone lol):
PRODUCTS USED :
Here is a complete list of products used:
Sharpie Pens Fine & Medium Tip
Canson XL Watercolor Paper
Krylon Fixatif
Sketch Diary
Winsor & Newton Watercolors
DESIGN :
Initially I pencil sketch in a rough pattern for placement and design. LRC was penciled in first. Then inked once I had the placement right. Then I began adding the elements behind. I doodled some designs into the paisley parts because of the letters in front, but this isn’t something I normally do. My pencil sketches are rough and wiggly! The only purpose they serve is to give me guidance on that initial design.
INKING :
I begin inking with my Sharpie Pen(not marker!). After I was done with an area I erased earlier than normal to take some of the depth of the Sharpie black away. In person you can see the lines are deep gray in areas. Then after all is inked and in place, I go back with my medium tip Sharpie Pen.
