Doodle Art : Feather Bookmark
The featherfall zentangle pattern that I played with last week has been callin my name…. Whispering in my ear daily… I couldn’t resist the call and only had 30 minutes before I had to start cooking dinner.. It took 35! But I got it drawn and then filled with watercolor! I love the blue!
This bookmark is a scrap piece of 140lb cold press watercolor paper that I had leftover from the 5×7’s I cut from a 9×12″ pad. I do not throw the pieces away, they all get saved for future projects!

DESIGN :
This bookmark had no real planning or thought. I liked the pattern and I thought half a feather would look great when you open the book and it’s laying there holding your place.
INKING :
I just drew this one out the with my Sharpie Pen. Afterwards, I went back with my medium tip Sharpie and deepened the edges. I finished off by using watercolor in the feather and the stem. After finishing, I give it a coating with my fixatif.
