Open composition is when the elements of the artwork go beyond the edges of the page. With mandalas, I love when they come from one corner or another of the page… Or when they burst so large from the center that they go beyond the page completely.. These mandalas or doodles or drawings aren’t that great for framing but they are so much fun to create!

I’m not sure this next one qualifies as just ‘open composition’. The top of the paper had some random doodles and scratching on it so I just cut it out! I’m thinking I may do this to all of my doodles that this happens to. I like this!
